Instructions:

1) Start with 7” x 5” light grey card.

2) Cut 6” x 4” dark grey cardstock. Stamp sentiment in lower right corner using Versamark ink. Sprinkle with White Embossing Powder, heat set.

Glue centered. Cut 2” x 4 ½” brown plaid strip. Cut a “V” from one end and glue to card as shown.

3) Cut 4 ¼” x 2 ¾” Mixed Media Paper and stamp Cat Nap. Color with Copics as shown. Mat with white cardstock leaving a 1/8” border. Glue centered.

4) Glue buttons.

Instructions:

1) Start with 7 ½” x 5 1/8” grey card. Cut 7 ¼” x 4 ¾” light yellow cardstock. Stamp Birthday Block stamp using Versamark Ink, sprinkle with turquoise Spring Sparkle. Heat set. Glue centered. Glue turquoise scallop ribbon to top and bottom of light yellow cardstock. Cut 7 ½” x ¾” grey strip and glue horizontal across center of card. Add stripped ribbon.

2) Use Design tool to cut out rounded label on Mixed Media paper. Stamp Birthday Bird and Birthday Wish sentiment “Hope your Birthday . . .” using Memento Ink. Ink edges with Pumice Stone using blending tool. Color with Copic Markers as shown. Use Design Tool to cut turquoise border, and mat your colored image. Glue centered onto card.

3) Glue flowers, and buttons.

4) Cut two 1” squares from black cardstock. Cut in half, and glue to card as corners.

Instructions:

1) Start with 7” x 5 1/2” grey horizontal card. Ink edges with blender tool and Pumice Stone Distress Ink. Cut 6 1/2” x 4 1/2” lavender cardstock and stamp with Floral Tapestry Cling Stamp using Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. Glue centered.

2) Cut 6 /4” x 4 “ purple cardstock Stamp with Leaves from Fronds Clear Stamp Set using Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. Glue as shown. Cut 7” x ¼” purple cardstock Stamp with Leaves from Fronds Clear Stamp Set using Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. Glue 1/8” from the bottom.

3) Glue 7” x 1 ½” grey plaid pattered paper, and lavender ribbon as shown.

4) Cut 5 ½” x 3 ½” grey cardstock. Stamp Birthday Wish sentiment with Versamark Ink, sprinkle with Detail White Embossing Powder and heat set. Glue centered.

5) Cut 4 ¼” x 3” Mixed Media Paper. Stamp Pretty Guinea Cling Stamp using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink. Color with Copic Markers. Mat with purple cardstock and glue as shown. Add bow.

Instructions:

1) Start with 6” x 4 ½”” brown card. Stamp Stampendous Happy Messages sentiment “Thinking of you” centered on the bottom of card with Versamark Ink. Sprinkle with Detail Embossing Powder, shake off excess and heat set.

2) Cut 5 5/8” x 4 ½” pale turquoise cardstock. Round corners and glue centered 1/8” from the top. Cut 5 ¼” x 4 ¼” turquoise cardstock, round corners, and glue centered.

3) Cut 5” x 3 7/8” Mixed Media Paper, and round corners. Stamp Quick Recovery using Memento Ink, and color with Copics as shown. (COPIC TIP: To create the feverish look on your mouse lightly color a large circle on the cheeks using R20. Then go back in the center of the circle to apply more color. This will build up the color on the cheek so it blends from dark in the center, to lighter edges.)

4) Glue centered. Add buttons.

Stampendous and Deflecto Blog Hop Day 2!

I used Stampendous Tropical Pineapple stamp to decorate my Deflecto Carousel Rotating Organizer - 9 Bins!

I measured my watercolor paper and cut it to fit, and then stamped my Pineapple using Versamark Ink and Stampendous detail black embossing powder. I heat set it, and then water colored it with Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Abandon Coral, Mustard Seed, Cracked Pistachio, and Peacock Feathers. I love the idea of pulling out the inserts and changing it seasonally!

Stampendous and Deflecto Blog Hop Day 1!

Deflecto has great product for organization, as well as pieces that you can customize for your home or craft space. Stampendous stamps are of course my go to for customizing anything. Today I made a really fun and simple photo frame.

I used their clear frame and Stampendous Sketchy Blooms Stamp to customize my frame. I stamped the frame with Versamark, and used some Detail Black Embossing powder.

If you want to customize this for a unique gift you could stamp the Sketchy Blooms stamp several times onto watercolor paper, and paint several versions of the stamp for different occasions. For example you could paint a pastel one for Easter, a red and green version for Christmas, or perhaps black flowers with red leaves for Halloween. The possibilities are endless! I used white embossing powder, and painted in some blues and greens using my Distress Inks.

You cut it out, and simple slide it in making sure to line it up in between the frame. Viola! Customized frame that's fun for your craft room, home, or as a gift!

DecoArt products together with Andy Skinner's new stamps!

We’re super excited this week to play with our friends at DecoArt. Mixed Media Artist and DecoArt International Education Coordinator Andy Skinner has designed some fantastic stamps for Stampendous, and we’re going to be showing them off all week long.

Andy will join us along with his team of international mixed media artists including Julia Stratford-Wright, Mark Gould, Mel Hookham, and Jools Robertson. Plus there will be posts this week on the DecoArt blog as well. Naturally the Stampendous Design Team will be checking in as well

Andy Skinner is an incredible Mixed Media Artist that created a line of stamps with Stampendous! Therefor giving all of us the opportunity to more easily create amazing mixed media pieces!! These stamps combined with Deco Art paints can help you create projects worthy of being called fabulous!!! THE MEDIA PAINT is great for tinting embossing pastes as well. I created a 12x12 canvas project about my adorable grandson DJ.

I loved how layering the Deco paint created this faux rust kind of look, and combined with Andy Skinners chipped paint stamp and some black ink, the paint looks much older than it is. To see more on how to do this awesome technique check out this tutorial by Andy Skinner HERE.

I used Stampendous Wood Grain Stamp to create this faux wood frame. It compliments the rustic picture of my adorable grandson.

I also used Dreamweaver Gears Stencil and Silver Embossing Paste to add some visual interest to the layout. I used Dreamweaver Maple Leaf Stencil to trace onto cardstock, cut out 5 of them, glue them together to make a thick leaf. I then spread White Embossing Paste over the leaf and stamped it with Stampendous Elegant Scroll stamp. Once it was dry I used Deco Art paints to layer colors onto it.

The final touch was adding more embellishments using Andy Skinner Toxic Stamp Set, as well as Stampendous Wild sayings clear stamps to add a little sentiment.

Start with 5 1/8” x 6 1/8” purple card. Cut 4 7/8” x 5 7/8” light blue cardstock and glue centered.
Cut 4 ¾” x 5 ¾” white cardstock. Use blending tool to blend Distress Inks - Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet. Let Dry completely. Let dry completely. Stamp Floral Tapestry using Versamark Ink, sprinkle with Detail Clear Embossing Powder. Shake off excess, and heat set. Repeat until background is completely covered. Glue centered.
Stamp Fairy Aviary onto mixed media paper and color with Copics as shown. Cut out inside cage with exacto knife, and the rest with scissors. Glue to card.
Glue ribbon. Die cut tag. Blend edges with Tumbled Glass, and then stamp sentiment onto tag using Wilted Violet.

Is there anything better than ribbon!!! I think not! I am a self proclaimed ribbon hoarder and there is no company I love more than May Arts! I love the quality of their ribbons as well as the variety! There's even prizes for this yummy Blog Hop

Instructions:

Start with 5” x 7” purple card. Cut 4 ¾” x 6 ¾” lavender cardstock. Stamp entire cardstock with Birthday Block using Wilted Violet Distress Ink. Glue centered.
Cut 4 ¼” frame from white cardstock. Cut in half and glue to card as shown. Cut 3 ¾” x 6” turquoise cardstock. Glue centered and ¾” from the bottom. Cut 2 ¾” x 7” green stripe and glue centered. Glue ribbon.
Cut 3 ¼” white circle, and stamp Balloon Bunny. Cut a cloud shape from white cardstock. Place around the outside of the image and use a blending tool and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to add clouds to the background. Color image with Copics as shown. Cut 3 ¾” purple scalloped circle. Glue stamped image onto purple scalloped circle. Glue centered.
Cut 2 ½” x 1” purple cardstock. Cut 2 ¼” x 7/8” white cardstock. Stamp sentiment using Memento black ink. Glue to purple cardstock and glue as shown.

Stampendous Be Mine!

Valentines Day is just around the corner and I have to show you one of my favorite new release stamps from Stampendous! It's called Time for Love! It is so much fun to color this stamp, and there is a perfect set of love sentiments that compliment it perfectly called Love Always Clear Stamp Set.

You could make this card look more steampunk like I've done here, or you could make it all silver, or pastel!

Instructions:

Start with 5 1/2” x 6 ¼” red card. Ink edges with blender tool and Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink. Cut and glue 5 1/8” x 6” black cardstock centered.
Cut 4 7/8” x 5 ¼” dark grey cardstock. Stamp paper randomly with Stampendous Screw Loose N Sparky Nuts and Bolts stamps using Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink to create background. Ink edges with blender tool and Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink. Glue centered on top of black cardstock.
Cut 4 7/8” x 3” brown cardstock. Tear edges and glue centered as shown. Next cut 4 7/8” x 2 ½” black cardstock. Tear edges and glue on top of brown cardstock. Then cut 4 7/8” x 2” dark grey cardstock. Tear edges and glue on top of black cardstock.
Die cut 3 ¾” red oval, and 4” light grey oval. Ink edges with blender tool and Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink. Glue red oval on top of light grey, and then glue to card.
Cut 2” x 1” light grey cardstock and ink edges with blender tool and Memento™ Tuxedo Black Ink. Stamp Stampendous Love Always sentiment “Your Heart is Always Safe with Me” centered. Glue to bottom of card as shown. On dark grey cardstock stamp Stampendous Screw Loose N Sparky screw head stamp 4 times. Cut out and foam tape to all 4 corners of sentiment.
Stamp Stampendous Time For Love stamp onto mixed media paper. Color with Copics as shown. (To create that red/orange tarnished rust look, color with your warm colors first and then lightly go over small areas with BG13, BG49). Cut out and foam tape to card.
