Kindred Stamps Arabian Nights

I am so loving this stamp Arabian Nights from Kindred Stamps. BUT . . . I can't think of one stamp set from Kindred Stamps I DIDN'T LIKE!!! This set has 6 characters to play with so the card possibilities are endless, but I thought why not do a card with all of them! You know me, I am from the "more is more" camp!

 

For my card I thought it would be fun to attach a scroll that has a very long Arabian Nights scene!

 

To create my background I found free coloring book images to trace and create my background and then I used the stamps to add my characters to the scene. Granted this did take a long time to color, but coloring while I watch TV is my favorite way to relax. I used Copics to color everything and I used a brown and black Prismacolor pencil for shading in some spots.

I glued the first part of the card to the inside of my card base, and hot glued the end to a pencil and rolled it up tight. I glued some ribbon to the back of my card and tied the scroll in place by wrapping the ribbon around the card, tucking the scroll in the back of the card and then tieing a ribbon to the front. 

 

I love how deceptively long the card actually is, and it makes such a fun storyline as it unfolds.

Kindred Stamps Prehistoric Alphabet

Super excited to share with you this fun Prehistoric Alphabet from Kindred Stamps! If you are asking yourself "What can I do with an alphabet set"? The question you really need to be asking "Is what can't I do"? You can create fun background paper, spell out titles for a scrapbook page, or do as I have done here and create a sentiment card!

I used craft paper and colored pencils to create this fun "RAWR" card, and a volcano digi stamp to complete this fun. I mean come on, who doesn't love a dinosaur card, right?

This fun set comes with little extras like dinosaur feet, dino eggs, and all the letters have little dino spike backs. Too fun!

I simply stamped the images on Kraft cardstock, and colored the sentiment in with Prismacolor pencils. Easy and simple but it has great whimsical qualities making this simple card DINO-MITE! (sorry, I just had to).

Try adding some DINO-RIFFIC goodness to your projects!

I am so in love with this stamp set! Maybe it's because I have a thing for all things space explorer related, but still it's stinkin adorable!

I HAD TO CREATE a holographic deck card with my favorite tea drinking captain!

And then of course what every girl needs . . . Space Explorer Jewelry!

Kindred Stamps Guest Designer!

Kindred Stamp release's are so fun! I have been asked to be a guest designer and I couldn't be more excited! I love their products and consider my self a hard core fan. Okay . . . maybe more like a light stalker, but I keep it legal. If you haven't been introduced to them then let me make a formal introduction! They are a clear stamp company with stamps that have a delicious geeky twist. These sets are parodies of pop culture fandoms, and as such have inspired names. For example here are a couple of samples to give you an idea . . .

Are you getting the idea? Fabulous, right? 

Now lets get on to the real reason your here! A new release! I ADORE this set called Next Space Explorers! 
I have a husband that absolutely loves this set so it's perfect for my card making!

I used my Copics to color my space explorer and used Distress Inks to create a space nebula background to place him on. Of course I had to add some gold and sparkle, and I used White embossing powder on vellum for my sentiment.

The sentiment on the inside of the card is from the same set but my cool triangle graphic is from another
awesome Kindred Stamp Set called Space Explorers!

For my second card I had to make a comical one, and nothing is funnier to me than a good pun. So of course I made an "Insufficient Data" card (Nerds will snicker here). I simply colored my little guy with Copics, and printed out the sentiment using Microsoft Word. 

For the inside I thought this sentiment from another stamp set I had would be absolutely perfect. It's "I am not complete with you" from the Kindred Stamp Trim the Hedges Set.

NO Line Coloring Box Cards

What do you get when you combine no line coloring and box cards? SUPER FUN-NESS! I can't wait to share with you these box cards I made with some really cute stamp sets. If you enjoy card making then you have seen box cards. Seems like everyone is making them, so I thought why not try the no line coloring technique with a cute box card!

For this first card I wanted something cute, and pastel so I used

For this next card I used the adorable

Kindred Stamp Video Game Brothers

 

I am only going to show you the technique of making the monster card, then you can use the same technique to create what ever kind of card you want!

Let's get started.

First start by cutting a 8.5” x 12”.
Score on the long side at 2.75”, 5.5”, 8.25”, and 11”.

Rotate paper and score at 3” and 8.5”.

Cut off a 2”x12” strip , and set it aside.
Cut down 2.75” to this score line along each of the 4 perpendicular score lines.

At the 11” score line, cut in at an angled line on edge of the cardstock to create a tab
Use circle cutting dies to cut out 3 holes

Make sure your edges are creased.

Glue Box together.

Cut 2 Inserts 3 1/4" x 3  3/4" , fold edges 1/4" on each side, and glue inside.

Decorate outside edges, and backdrop

 

 Cut strips of clear transparency and glue together to strengthen. Use clear strips to hold up artwork in box card.

Glue strings to balloons

 Glue Monsters inside card peeking out of holes. Glue the rest of images into card as shown.

Add a panel to the back so you can sign your card!
