It's day 22 of 31 Days of Halloween with Stampendous and Smeared Ink! I hope you are continuing to hop around the blogs to get your spooky fill of all things crafty and Halloween! I'm super happy to be sharing this Stampendous Raven Skull Stamp!
To create this spooky card you will need:
Stampendous Raven and Skull Cling Stamp
Stampendous Mica Flakes - Tarnished
Cardstock - lack, purple, grey, white
Memento Ink - black
Distress Ink - Spiced Marmalade, Victorian Velvet, Dusty Concord, Black Soot
Blending tool
Masking Paper (anything will work, but I like Inkadinkado Mask Paper)
Copics: C1,C2,C3,C5,C7,100, BV00,BV02,BV13,V02,V15,V06,V09
Die Cut - Lace circles
Instructions:
1. Start with a 5 1/4" x 6 1/4" black card. Cut 5" x 6" purple cardstock and tear the right side. Ink edges with blending tool and Black Soot Distress Ink. Glue centered on card.
2. Stamp image onto 4" x 5" white cardstock. Stamp image onto masking paper.
3. Cut out image from masking paper and gather Distress Inks.
4. Peel backing from masking paper and place onto original image on white cardstock.
5. Using Blending tool and Spiced Marmalade Distress ink start applying color in the center.
6. Next blend Victorian Velvet, Dusty Concord, and finally black soot using the same blending method.
*At this point you can stop, but I tend to repeat this process for a bolder look. Here is a side by side comparison between 1 layer of ink and 2 layers of ink. Layer 1 looks great, but I like that layer 2 has a little more intensity*
7. Peel off your mask. (If you get overly excited about this process and rip part of your mask like I did to the birds wing . . . don't worry too much about it you'll be coloring it in with copics).
*Also . . . If you peel the mask off carefully you can re use it. I store my stamps in envelopes and I just store the mask right along with the stamp*
8. Color image with copics as shown and mat onto grey cardstock leaving a 1/8" border. Glue at an angle onto card, and add lace die cut circles. Use Glossy Accents to add some Stampendous Tarnished Mica Flakes.
