Dreamweaver Thursday - Tombow!

 

Between Tombow's great products and Marie Browning’s cool eraser techniques. . . I'm in love! I thought it would be really fun to mix this Dreamweaver Corner Flowers Stencil and Marie's pencil / eraser technique. I love the effect it creates and my Tombow Mono Twin Permanent Marker, and my Mono eraser. It's really cool when you can have such a simple technique that makes such a big impact.

All you'll need for this dress is . . .

Cardstock - white, black, purple

Dreamweaver Flower Corner Stencil

Stampendous Happy Messages Stamp Set

Stampendous Detail Embossing Powders - white

VersaMark Watermark Ink Pad

Tombow Mono Twin Permanent Marker

Mono Eraser

Stencil tape

Nail File

Heat Gun

White Gel Pen

Pencil

Make Up Sponge

1. Start with 5" x 7" white card. Use stencil tape to tape off the left corner. Rub pencil over a nail file, and swipe cosmetic sponge over file to pick up lead. Rub over paper until covered. Tape stencil over the top left corner, and use eraser to create negative space. Outline stencil image using fine point of permanent marker. Remove Stencil.

2. Cut 5" x 7" black cardstock. Cut at the same angle as stenciled part of card. Stamp Happy Messages "Hey Friend" on the bottom right of the card using Versamark Ink, sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat set. Glue to card front.

3. Cut two 1/4" purple cardstock strips and glue as shown. Use stencil to trace flowers using  fine point of permanent marker. Color centers with white gel pen, cut out and glue to card.

Can I just tell you how easy and fun Tombow Bright Dual Brush Pen Sets are? I LOVE THEM! They make the most vibrant watercolor paintings! There is a set of 9 colors with colorless blender pen. For this card I used the Stampendous Bouquet For You Perfectly Clear Stamps, and Stampendous Penned Birthday Rubber Stamp to create my birthday card!

Watercolor Paper

Cardstock - white

Rhinestones - clear

1. Start with a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" horizontal white card. Cut a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" watercolor paper.

2. Stamp Stampendous Bouquet For You Perfectly  flower and leaf stamp repeatedly with a black ink. Watercolor with Tombow pens as shown. Let dry, and glue to front of card.

3. Die Cut 2 1/4" circle from white cardstock and stamp with Stampendous Penned Birthday Rubber Stamp. Glue to bottom right. Glue rhinestone, sequin, and dots as shown.

Dreamweaver Thursday: It's snow time!

It's snow time for Dreamweaver Thursday! I wanted to create a winter wonderland background, and inside the card have my little snowman message!

I wish you could see this card in person because photographing it does not capture how incredibly sparkly it is!!!

Here's the inside:

To create your own winter wonderland you'll need:

Dreamweaver Stencil Bare trees

Stampendous Micro Glitter - Crystal, Silver, China Blue, and Teal

Stampendous Sticky Panels

Stampendous Sweater Snowman

Stampendous Holiday Expression Clear Stamp Set

StazOn Ink - Black

Cardstock - grey, blue, white

Distress Ink - Salty Ocean

Copic Markers: B000,B00,B24,B28,YR07,E08

(Vegetable Based Soap: keeps stencil from sticking to sticky panel)

1. Rub backside of stencil with vegetable based soap. Place sticky panel onto white cardstock, and place stencil onto sticky panel (soap rubbed side down). Sprinkle Silver Micro Glitter at the top, Teal Micro Glitter in the middle, and China Blue Micro Glitter at the bottom. Use fingers to burnish into sticky panel. Shake off excess glitter and remove stencil.

2. Cut glittered image to 4 1/8" x 5 1/4". Mat onto blue cardstock. Glue onto 4 3/4" x 6 " grey card. Stamp Holiday Expression sentiment "Wishing you Peace and Joy" in the top right corner with StazOn ink. Add ribbon and a bow.

3. Stamp Sweater Snowman onto white cardstock with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. Cut out snowman and sentiment. Color with Copic markers. Add glossy accents with finger, and sprinkle with Crystal Micro Glitter. Let Dry. Glue snowman to bottom right corner inside card.

Dreamweaver Double day!

It's Dreamweaver Double week at Stampendous, and we are going to show you how to use your stencils in lots of fun and creative ways. We will show you DOUBLE the fun! For today's card I'm showing you how to use the Dreamweaver Jellyfish stencils 2 different ways on one card!

First I created a watercolor background using Distress Inks. Then I used Dreamweaver embossing paste and the Jellyfish stencil. Once the jellyfish dried I used a ink blending tool to add color to my Jellyfish using Distress Inks. I spread Glossy Accents over it, and sprinkle crystal micro glitter on him to finish!

For my second technique I simply used the same blending tool to use over the stencil adding ink.

Dreamweaver Thursday: Fall

For this fall layout I thought I would combine a two fabulous Dreamweaver stencils. I used Maple Leaf Large Stencil and Bare Trees Stencil to create my fall theme. I also used Dreamweaver Gold Embossing Paste to add some shine! I created a border using Stampendous Cling Filigree Stamp Set.

I created a border by stamping Stampendous Cling Filigree Stamp Set. onto orange cardstock using Barn Door Distress ink. I inked the edges using a blending tool with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I matted my photo's leaving a 1/4" border.

I used the  Maple Leaf Large Stencil and Dreamweaver Gold Embossing Paste to add gold leaves to my layout. Before the leaves dried I pressed in some rhinestones. I traces the leaf shape onto tan cardstock, cut them out, and added Barn Door, and Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink with my blending tool. Then I laid my Bare Trees Stencil over the leaf and patted on some Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I wanted to add some texture and visual interest to my layout so I used a blending tool with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and gently patted the color over the Bare Trees Stencil in random spots on my background page. Gold glitter ribbon finished off the look for the perfect fall layout.

Dreamweaver Thursday: Backgrounds!

Today I thought I  would share a simple and fun background for a card or a layout. It's the "Oh no, I was supposed to make a card and now I have to crank out a card in 5 minutes" card. Come on...you know we've all been there. Mad scrambling at the last minute because you forgot you were the one that was supposed to bring the handmade card!

This card is simple, and clean looking but still has a little fun to it. Plus you can do this technique with any stencil! It gives your card a fun dimensional look without all the work!

For this card I will be using Dreamweaver Damask Stencil, but you could use any stencil for this technique!

 First lay down your stencil and use an ink dauber to apply Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. Remove stencil and let dry. Lay stencil back over image, and then move slightly to the right and down. Using a dauber apply White pigment Ink. Remove stencil and let dry. Trim to a 4 1/8" x 5 1/2" and round corners.

Glue to white cardstock card with rounded corners. Die cut 2 1/2" circle from white cardstock. Stamp with Stampendous Happy Messages "Thank You" sentiment using Memento Black ink. Stamp small heart from Stampendous Love Always Clear Stamp set using Peacock Feathers Distress Ink as shown. Glue onto 3" vellum circle. Foam tape centered onto card.

Viola! Your finished. These fast and easy cards would make a great gift set as well!

Playing with Paste!

This week Stampendous is having us Play with Paste! I have a really fun technique that I think you'll love! It's using Dreamweaver Translucent Paste and Stampendous Silver Halo Glitter mix. You can customize this technique by using any of the Stampendous glitters!

First you are going to take out a paper plate and the Dreamweaver Translucent Paste. Place about a Tablespoon of paste on the plate. I used a popsicle stick to mix, but you can use anything you want.

 

 Next pour a LIBERAL amount of Stampendous Halo Glitter. (I used about a Tablespoon. You could use more or less depending on the look you are going for).

Stir together until it's completely mixed.

 

Then tape down your stencil using stencil tape, and spread the paste across your stencil. For this project I used Dreamweaver Graduated Dot Stencil. Remove stencil and let this dry completely.

 

I used this sparkly stencil technique for my background, and I used Stampendous Peony Spray Rubber Stamp for my focal point. I used Copic Markers ( R00,R20,RV14,R32 ) to color the flower, and Copic Markers (YG00,G82,YG63,YG67  ) to color the leaves. I added ribbon, and foam taped my peony to the bottom right side of my card. To finish it of I stamped a "Thank You" sentiment onto a sheet of Judikins embossable window plastic using Versamark Ink. I sprinkled it with Stampendous Detailed White Embossing Powder, and heat set. I attached it with Glue Dots.

 You really can't capture on camera how much this sparkles! Trust me it's SO SPARKLY!!!

You have to try this technique, and remember you can customize it using any of the Stampendous Glitter mixes!

Dreamweaver Thursday: Trees!

This week we are talking about tree's, and I know the perfect Dreamweaver stencil . . . Bare Tree's Stencil! It' one of my favorites, and I can't wait to share this fun technique!

For this card you will also need Dreamweaver Regular Paste 4 Oz, Dreamweaver Palette Knife, Paste Spreader, and Distress Ink Re-inkers in Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, and Weathered Wood. To finish the card you'll need Stampendous Say It Perfectly Clear Stamps, Black Diamond Stickles, and Black Jewel Border Dazzles.

First you'll want to tape down your stencil to a piece of 4 1/8" x 6 1/4" black cardstock. Separate 3 piles of Dreamweaver paste onto a paper plate and tint each one with the 3 different Distress Ink colors. In a horizontal line spread the grey at the top of the stencil, the orange near the center, and the yellow towards the bottom. Use your spreader to pull the paste downward over the stencil. The colors will blend together to create a sunset (NOTE: if you miss a spot spread side to side so you don't mess up the gradient of color that you just created).

Second remove the stencil, and let it dry completely. Adhere onto 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" grey card. Fill black areas with Black Diamond Stickles. Let dry. Stamp sentiment, and add border.

I thought the perfect subject for my layout would be my adorable granddaughter Lily Ann! I love how fast Stampendous Mixed Media stamps make a layout come together. For this layout I used NK Studio Grunge Cling Rubber Stamps (NKCRS03), as well as the reusable Paint Splash Template that's included with the stamp set to add pattern to my background. I also used Stampendous Cling Build A Bouquet Set to add some floral accents by embossing vellum with white embossing powder.

To add texture to my layout I used Dreamweaver Graduated Dot Stencil, and Dreamweaver Translucent Paste. To create the textured dots I mixed Frantage Embossing Enamels in shabby blue with the translucent paste, and spread that over the graduated dot stencil to add texture to my layout. I also stamped flowers onto the Linnie Blooms file folder, and used watered down paints to paint the leaves. The fabric file folder was fantastic to paint on I loved the way it accepts the paints and it's so easy to paint on!

Technique Tuesday: Stampendous Parrot!

With summer fast approaching I felt like creating something bright, sunny, and tropical! What could feel more summer and tropical than Cling Jumbo Parrot Rubber Stamp! I love this stamp, and my photo of relaxing on the beach are a perfect match for my layout.

I used the Cling Jumbo Parrot Rubber Stamp to add some tropical flair, and I used PenPattern Petal Rubber Stamp to create a red and white Hawaiian print.

 To add some texture to the corners I used a Dreamweaver Fern stencil and Stampendous Frantage Embossing Enamels in Aged Teal. I also stamped Stampendous Relax Enjoy Rubber Stamp with VersaMark ink and heat set some  black Detail Embossing Powders. I also used Stampendous Dream Text Stamp, and Distress Ink Broken China to add ink to the edges of my layout.

 To create a sandy beach feel along the bottom of the layout I used Spoonful Gold Dust Embossing Plus Kit.

I love how fun and vibrant this turned out and Stampendous product are perfect for adding all that yummy texture that I love on a layout! Try using the parrot stamp for one of your creative projects! Or Stampendous embossing products, and Dreamweaver stencils to add texture to your projects!
