So along my way to redoing my bathroom, I saw this really great Dollar Tree tutorial on a little container for your bathroom accessories. I loved the look of it because I am obsessed with enamel wear! I wanted something cute to put my hand towel in and this container is perfect for that!
It started with this tin container from the garden section at Dollar Tree, so it was a $1.00 investment.
Next, I took a high gloss spray paint and painted it inside and out. I used high gloss because enamel wear has that great glossy sheen to it.
Once it was dry I took my black paint pen and went around the top and bottom edges to create the enamel wear look. The best part is that the lines could be crooked or slightly off because that's the look! I also added some lines or marks to simulate chips in the paint.
Then I lightly and loosely traced the letters embossed on the front.
Not bad for a buck, right?
I am in the process of making a few more pieces and I can't wait to share.
The video I saw featured this tin, but Jay Munee DIY made it into an adorable bathtub.
