I just love making Distress Ink backgrounds! They are definitely my favorite and I could just make them all day. This week I thought I would showcase my bokeh background. They make for really interesting card backdrops and plus they are so fun to make!
To create this background you'll need:
White Cardstock
*****SERIOUSLY THE BEST PRICE I HAVE EVER FOUND*****
Time for another 10 minute card! Since spring is here I decided that I wanted to use this adorable Wooly Spring stamp set by Darcie. He's adorable and easy to color.
Here is the sketch I used for this weeks simple 10 minute card!
Yellow plastic flowers (can't remember where I got these)

Welcome to another fun week of Brutus|Monroe blog hopping! This week we are taking a look at mixed media projects. I have to be honest here, this is where I struggle. I am horrible at the mixed media thing. It takes me 3 times as long to complete a mixed media project...LOL. For some reason I just can't see it completed! BUT . . . I will say all the experimenting with different mediums is super fun!
Since I tend to lean towards the cartoonist side of art I chose this Be Unique Stamp Setto create my mixed media project.
First I stamped and colored my images on marker paper, and then masked my colored images and used my Brutus|Monroe inks to add ink to the background. Then I peeled off my mask and glued my colored image to the canvas. Once that was done I used Stencils, and paste to add some texture to the canvas. I added some globs (totally made up word) to the canvas and pushed my chipboard shapes into it.
(*Some of my chipboard was different colors, colored buttons, metal pieces. None of this matters because you will paint it all white when dried*)
Once the paste was dried I added a coat of white gesso to coat all my chipboard pieces. Once that was dried I used my ink blending tool and my inks to add color! The final step was spritzing a little Cornflower surface spray onto the canvas, and I added the word Friends onto transparency to complete the look.
When it comes to mixed media it's all about experimentation, and just letting go of the rules! You can not mess it up, I promise!
Every now and then its fun to create something a little different than a card. So if you know me then you know I will invent reasons to craft! LOL
I was thinking of how fun it would be to invite some friends over for a Harry Potter themed dinner and movie marathon! So of course we need some cuteness! I thought the stamp sets from Sassy Club looked perfect for a Harry Potter Party themed party supplies! Sassy Club Stamps have a ton of really fun images that you should check out, but here are the sets I used:
Wizards, Magical Creatures, and Magical Pals.
This little Harry and Doby bag would be perfect to hold some Harry Potter themed socks.
This test tube would have held more jellybeans, but I got hungry!
Happy Color Me Monday to you! I am so glad you stopped by. I felt like I needed a bright and colorful palette this week so what is more colorful that fruity cereal!
The stamp I used this week is Craftin' Desert Diva's Weather Gnomes. The little characters are adorable and I thought perfect for this whimsical color scheme!
I love creating little mini embellishments by stacking things like sequins, and rhinestones. Yes it's super tiny, and I may be cray cray for doing it, but I love tiny things!
This Rock Candy Sequin mix from Kat Scrapiness is to die for!
Here's some of my tiny rhinestone collection that I used on the card.

It's 10 minute card time! I am returning with an even simpler quick and easy card. Think about how many background stamps you have, and how often you use them. Why not let the background stamp be the star! I love this one because it's so fast and easy, but it's so fun to make. I could make a ton of these because water coloring is great fun and you can't mess it up! Since the background is the star for this card I chose a super straight forward sketch.

Can I just say the KINDRED STAMPS needs to STOP making stamps that I NEED to buy!!! They have got me again with Demon Hunters stamp set. We have so many Supernatural fans in the family, so naturally I had to get it.
But wait....It couldn't be just any Supernatural card. It had to have a little darkness to it, right? So I had to use my AlteNew Doctors Rules stamp set. It has the PERFECT heart!
I created a back ground paper and thought I would include it in case you want to make one of your own.

This Monday I fell in love with these beautiful teals and pink together. I love how soft and pretty they are and I knew the perfect stamp set was going to be My Favorite Thing Ewe are the Best. The sheep are so stinkin' cute with these pastel colors and I love the new sentiment stamp set All Smiles.
I wanted to create my own patterned paper for this so I thought why not do some color blending and add some of the stamps from the set to create a calico like print.
