It's Distress time again! Some people have told me that they don't care for the Distress style because it's too dark. To which I say . . . Hey, Distressing doesn't have to be depressing! You can have bright vibrant colors and age them to give them more distress, and character! There are no rules so go for it! Use whatever colors you wish, and distress a little or a lot!
I created this bright and happy, yet distressed Christmas card for today's post. I know, I know . . . I shouldn't be showing Christmas so early. But I can't help it. This House of Mouse stamp is so stinkin' cute!!!
Add Shabby Embossing Enamel for a lighter distressed look.
Use water coloring technique to really make your coloring pop!
For this card you'll need:
Cardstock : grey Blue, White

Stamping Mask Paper
Distress Ink - Squeezed Lemonade, Scattered Straw, Vintage Photo, Faded Jeans
Memento Ink - black
Blending Tool
Paintbrush
Lace
Flowers with rhinestone center
Instructions:
1. Start with 6 1/4" x 5 1/2" grey blue card. Stamp card with peeled paint stamp using Faded Jeans Distress Ink. Use blending tool and Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add color to the edges. Cut a 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" white cardstock and stamp with Joyful Noise stamp using Memento Ink. Color with Copics as shown.
2. Press Distress Ink pads (Squeezed Lemonade, Scattered Straw, Vintage Photo) onto a craft mat and spray with water. Paint around image, and let dry completely. Stamp image onto stamping mask paper, and cut out. Lay over colored image. Stamp background with Music Score Stamp using Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
3. Sprinkle with Shabby Blue Embossing Powder on the corners. Heat set from underneath until melted. Glue to card centered.
4. Place lace, and flowers. Stamp sentiment, cut out, and ink edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Glue as shown.
