You've all seen those cards and pages that are deliciously distressed to perfection, and you think "I'm not sure I can do that." . . . BUT WAIT! What if I told you Stampendous has taken all the work, and confusion out of Distressing? Great right? Stampendous has an array of Mixed Media stamps that work wonders when distressing your projects. All the look without all the fuss!
To show you just what I mean I made this tag card that creates the look of many different distressing techniques, but is really done with a few simple stamps.
I used Stampendous AS Cling Industrial Set to create that peeled paint effect on my purple background, and I used acrylic paint and NK Studio Grunge Cling Rubber Stamps to make a vibrant colorful background.
If you are wondering how I got those cool gears on my card, well I'll tell ya . . . I used ScrewLoose N Sparky Perfectly Clear Stamps, and Dreamweaver Gears Stencil. First I spread Dreamweaver Silver Embossing Paste over the gear stencil. After it was dry I heat embossed Detailed Silver Embossing Powder onto black cardstock. Once that was set I simple stamped my ScrewLoose N Sparky Gear Perfectly stamp using StazOn black ink, cut out, and foam taped it over the stenciled gears!
Let me share with you how I created this card:
Cardstock - black, purple, white
Stampendous AS Cling Industrial Set
Stampendous NK Studio Grunge Cling Rubber Stamps
Stampendous ScrewLoose N Sparky Perfectly Clear Stamps
Stampendous Jumbo Cling Rubber Butterfly Trio
Stampendous Say it Today Clear Stamp Set
Dreamweaver Gears Stencil
Dreamweaver Silver Embossing Powder
Detailed Embossing Powder - Black, White, Silver
StazOn Ink - black
Versamark Ink
Memento Ink
Distress Ink - Seedless Preserves
Blending Tool
Dylusions Acrylic Paint - Lemon Zest, Vibrant Turquoise, Crushed Grape, Fresh Lime, London Blue, Bubble Gum Pink
Paintbrushes
Rhinestones - clear
The how to:
1. Start with a 4" x 7 3/4" black card. Cut the edges at an angle to create a tag shaped card. Cut a 3 3/4" x 7 1/2" purple cardstock tag. Stamp entire cardstock with AS Cling Industrial peel paint stamp using Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. Glue centered onto card.
2.Cut 3 1/2" x 6" white cardstock. Swipe paint onto cardstock to create a mixed colorful background(don't over mix). Let Dry.
3.Once your paper has dried use NK Studio Grunge Cling Rubber Stamps and Memento black ink to randomly stamp to create mixed media background(be sure to leave some color peeking through).
4.Use Dreamweaver Gear stencil to add gears. Position your stencil to get the perfect gears to use in the lower right corner, and upper left corner. Spread Silver Embossing Paste to spread over the gear stencil, remove stencil and let dry. Glue centered onto purple cardstock.
5.Stamp Say it Today Clear sentiment Stamps onto black cardstock. Sprinkle with white Detailed Embossing Powder, heat set and cut into strips. Glue as shown.
6.Spread yellow and purple paint onto a scrap of white cardstock, let dry. Stamp with Jumbo Cling Rubber Butterfly using Versamark Ink and sprinkle with Detail Black Embossing Powder, heat set. Cut out and glue to card as shown.
7.Take a scrap piece of black cardstock and press onto Versamark Ink Pad. Sprinkle with Detail Silver Embossing Powder, heat set. Stamp with ScrewLoose N Sparky gear, and screw head. Cut out.
8.Glue screw heads at the edge of sentiments. Foam tape gears as shown, and place rhinestones.
