What is more inspiring and patriotic than fire works! I saw this Dreamweaver fireworks embossing folder and thought it would be perfect with the Stampendous Lady Liberty Rubber Stamp. I wanted to mix it up so I decided to create a box card. If you have never seen a box card before, it's exactly what it sounds like! It's a box with art work inside of it, and mimics a framed piece of art.
As you can see if you lay the box down on it's side you can see the fireworks are in the back of the box and the Statue Of Liberty is on the front, glued down on clear acetate that's been stamped and embossed.
You might be asking "But wait, where do I put the personal message"? That would be on the back!
To make this card you'll need :
Stampendous Lady Liberty Rubber Stamp
Stampendous Free and Brave Rubber Stamp
Stampendous Detail Embossing Powders
Cardstock: red, white cardstock
Color Core cardstock: black
Watercolor Paper
Silver glitter paper
Dreamweaver Fireworks Embossing Folder
Copic Marker : C5
VersaMark Ink
Memento Ink - black
Distress Ink : Broken China, Evergreen Bough
Paintbrush
Stickles: Blue, Red, and Diamond
Nail File
Bone Folder (optional)
Zip Dry Adhesive
Step 1: Cut 4" x 5 1/4" black Color Core cardstock. Emboss with Dreamweaver Fireworks Folder. Leave paper in folder, and use nail file to sand off the raised firework image. (By sanding the paper to make the fireworks white, this will help the Stickle colors look brighter when finished). Take out of folder, and add Stickles as shown. Set aside until completely dry.
Step 2: Cut paper to 11" x 6 1/4". Place paper in front of you horizontally. Score red cardstock as shown on handout. Fold. Cut 3 3/4" x 5" window from front of card.
Step 3: Stamp acetate with VersaMark Ink, and sprinkle with Detail White Embossing powder. Heat set, and glue to inside of window.
Step 4: Glue box together, and glue firework panel to the inside.
Step 5: Stamp Lady Liberty onto watercolor paper using Memento Ink, and paint with Broken China, Evergreen Bough Distress Ink. Let Dry, and add shadows with Copic C5 marker. Cut out and glue to front of card as shown. Glue silver glitter strip to card.

This is awesome! I was wondering how you got the words to stamp so clearly over the other embossed bits. LOL. Very tricksy!

Hi Viki! To answer your question I stamped on a transparency to create the clear window on the card.
